Khadi, hair dyes and Ayurvedic hair care products Khadi hair dyes and hair care products are made from fresh fruits and medicinal plants used in traditional Ayurvedic remedies (one of the oldest forms of traditional medicine).
The Khadi movement came about in the 1920s in the form of a political movement that boycotted foreign goods; the aim was to promote the rural economy by offering products from Indian villages to improve the natives’ standard of living. "Khadi" means ‘handspun’ in Hindi i.e. cotton cloth spun by hand and also garments made from this cotton. Even today, the Indian Minister for Agriculture controls and certifies all products sold under the “Khadi” label.
Khadi is now a German hair care brand. The company wanted to remain faithful to the principles of the movement by selling products made in India close to where the plants are grown and harvested. The Khadi company buys its raw materials directly from local Indian producers based on the principle of fair trade. The German brand has helped preserve jobs in rural India; all the plants it uses are harvested by local people.
They products are BDIH-certified in accordance with the most stringent European standards. Khadi products combine age-old Ayurvedic traditions with modern formulation methods to restore hair's natural beauty.
